At Tasmanian Gourmet Garlic we have 56 cultivars and another 80 that will be available in the next several years. By March, we have harvested and cured all our garlic and open our doors for the public to experience our Garlic Shed Taste Tours.
During our 2 hour Taste Tour, we see a commercial curing shed in operation and taste up to 20 garlics from very different garlic groups, including Turbans, Creoles, Artichokes, Rocamboles, Marbled Purple Stripes, Glazed Purple Stripes and Silverskins.
Experience the wonderful diversity of flavours and aromas, and discover how different garlics make remarkable impacts on the same recipe base both raw and cooked. Understand how culinary preparation techniques and cooking styles can alter health benefit and flavours.
