Subtropical garlics are grown in Queensland, Northern NSW, Coastal NSW, Northern SA, WA and in Mediterranean microclimates.

Planted in mid-February, they grow for only 5.5 – 6.5 months and have a lovely 7-9 month storage and produces between 9 – 15 cloves per bulb. Being a softneck they have variable clove shapes, sometimes smaller than what most would like and this is why its best to also grow an Elephant Garlic to not only meet the longer storage of 12 months +, but to enjoy the larger clove sizes.

Glen Large and Southern Glen are the sweeter garlics, whilst Italian Pink and Italian Red are sharper, stronger and more suited to cooking rather than raw use.
